Participants to go to the II Round of the Conducting category of the Rachmaninoff International Competition have been announced

By the decision of the jury in the Conducting category, the following participants have been admitted to the II Round of the Rachmaninoff International Competition

Arman Tigranyan and Sergey Neller have been noted by Valery Gergiev and will be invited to join his projects for the next theatre season. Yury Demidovich, Andrey Kolyasnikov and Ivan Khudyakov-Vedenyapin will be invited by Valery Gergiev for an internship.

The 1st round in the Conducting specialty was held from 18 to 20 June in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. 25 contestants had to go through two works with the orchestra in the format of an open rehearsal – Symphonic Fantasy The Rock by Sergei Rachmaninoff and a part from the symphony by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart or Ludwig van Beethoven at the choice of the participant. The jury members are: Valery Gergiev (Chair of the jury), César Álvarez, Christian Knapp, Tao Lin, Fabio Mastrangelo, George Pehlivanian, Valery Polyansky, Alexander Sladkovsky, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Christopher Chen.
