The Academy of Russian Music under the direction of Ivan Nikiforchin will perform at OPÉRA D’ALGER
From 19 to 21 October, the Algerian People’s Democratic Republic will host the Days of Russian Culture in Algeria, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.
On 20 October, a concert will take place at the OPÉRA D’ALGER, in which the Chamber Choir Academy of Russian Music conducted by the 2nd Prize winner at the 1st Rachmaninoff International Competition for Pianists, Composers and Conductors, Chief conductor of the choir Ivan Nikiforchin. The performance of Russian musicians will be part of the 12th International Cultural Festival of Symphonic Music.
The concert program will include: Serenade for string orchestra in C major, op. 48 by P. Tchaikovsky; Sinfonietta for string orchestra in A minor, op. 68 by N.Myaskovsky; Three poems for string orchestra: Autumn Prayers, Birds in the Rain, and On the verge of melting and ice by Yu. Abdokov (b. 1967).
The Academy of Russian Music united a chamber orchestra and a choir. The orchestra consists of young musicians from the leading musical educational institutions of the Russian capital: the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, Schnittke Moscow State Institute of Music. Many of them are laureates of prestigious international competitions. According to the opinion of reputable critics, Academy of Russian Music is one of the brightest and most popular youth musical companies in Russia.
The Days of Russian Culture in Algeria are held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Algerian People’s Democratic Republic, and the Embassy of the Algerian People’s Democratic Republic in the Russian Federation.
