The Names of the Prizewinners of the Rachmaninoff International Competition in the Conducting nomination have been announced

First Prize and Gold Medal: Gurgen Petrosyan / Russia and Philipp Selivanov / Russia
Second Prize and Silver Medal: Clement Nonciaux / France and Ivan Nikiforchin / Russia
Third Prize and Bronze Medal: Arseny Shuplyakov / Russia and Haoran Li / China
Fourth Prize – not awarded
Fifth Prize and Diploma: Alexey Morgunov / Russia
Sixth Prize – not awarded

25 contestants have attended the auditions in the Conducting nomination, taking place from June 18 to 26 in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. During the first 2 rounds the jury evaluated the work of the conductor with the orchestra in the format of an open rehearsal. The orchestras were: Symphony Orchestra of the State Symphony Capella of Russia (I Round) and the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra (II Round). The III Round was held with the participation of the Mariinsky Orchestra, and the program of one symphony and one piano concerto by Sergei Rachmaninoff was given to the participants according to the results of the draw. The jury consisted of: Valery Gergiev (Chair of the jury), César Álvarez, Christian Knapp, Tao Lin, Fabio Mastrangelo, George Pehlivanian, Valery Polyansky, Alexander Sladkovsky, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Christopher Chen.

Awarding ceremony of the Rachmaninoff International Competition will be held on June 27 at 12:00 at the Pashkov House in Moscow. Later this day, at 19:00, the laureates will perform at a gala concert in the Great Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory.

On June 28, they will also perform on one stage with Denis Matsuev and Valery Gergiev in St. Petersburg, as part of the First International Music Festival Brass of the White Nights.
