«Celebration of classical music»
The laureates of the Tchaikovsky Competition and the Rachmaninoff Competition will continue the All-Russian cultural project – marathon My Rachmaninoff.
Ilya Papoyan: “It is a great honor for me to be a participant of the marathon My Rachmaninoff. I look forward to meeting the audience and sharing the celebration of classical music with them. Sergei Vasilievich is dear to me not only as a composer, but also as a personality. Rachmaninoff’s music is the absolute embodiment of the Russian spirit. For me, it is life itself, it embodies all the emotions and senses of life. Most recently, in September, I played all five of Rachmaninoff’s piano concertos, including the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, in two evenings. I love almost all of Rachmaninoff’s works, but my favorites are his concertos (all 5 of them including the Rhapsody) and both sonatas.”
On 22, 24, 26 October, Vadim Rudenko (II prize at the XI International Tchaikovsky Competition), Arseny Tarasevich-Nikolaev (II prize at the Rachmaninoff International Competition for Pianists, Composers and Conductors), Ilya Papoyan (III prize at the Rachmaninoff International Competition for Pianists, Composers and Conductors and III Prize at the XVII Tchaikovsky International Competition) will perform in Ufa, Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod.
The All-Russian cultural project – marathon My Rachmaninoff was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the ANO “Novy Vek” with the assistance of the Federal State Budgetary Institution ROSCONCERT
