The marathon My Rachmaninoff took place in three Federal districts in November

The concerts were held in 9 cities.

In November, the music works of Rachmaninoff, as well as Russian and foreign classics, were presented by outstanding Russian musicians, laureates of the International Tchaikovsky Competition and the Rachmaninoff International Competition for Pianists, Composers and Conductors, in a series of concerts in the cities of the Central, North-Western and Southern Federal Districts.

From  2 to 4 November, the 1st Prize and Gold medal winner of the Rachmaninoff International Competition for Pianists, Composers and Conductors Alexander Kliuchko (piano) gave concerts in Tikhvin (N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov Palace of Culture), Veliky Novgorod (Novgorod Regional Philharmonic named after A.S. Arensky), Pskov (Pskov Regional Philharmonic). The Novosibirsk Academic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Dimitris Botinis took part in the concerts. The program included: Piano concerto No. 3 in D minor, op. 30 by S. Rachmaninov; Symphony No. 4 in E minor by J. Brahms.

On 7 November, the pianist and Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra (Artistic director and Chief conductor Vladimir Lande) played Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, op. 18  on stage of the Voronezh Concert Hall. The program also featured Etudes-Tableaux orchestrated by O. Respighi and the Symphonic Poem Isle of the Dead. The concert was conducted by Vladimir Lande. On 28 November, A. Kliuchko gave a concert in Yaroslavl (Millennium Concert Hall), where together with the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra (Artistic director and Chief conductor V. Fedoseev) he presented Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, op. 18 by Rachmaninoff. The orchestra also performed symphonic fragments from operas by Russian composers – M.I. Glinka, P.I. Tchaikovsky, N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov and A.S. Dargomyzhsky. The concert was conducted by Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Denis Lotoev.

Winner of the 2nd Prize and Silver medal at the XVII International Tchaikovsky Competition Valentin Malinin (piano) gave concerts on November 14, 15 and 17 in Volgograd (Tsaritsyn Opera), Astrakhan (Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet Theater) and Rostov-on-Don (Rostov State Philharmonic). The State Academic Symphony Orchestra “Evgeny Svetlanov” participated in these events. The concerts on 14 and 15 November were conducted by an outstanding musician of our time, a representative of the famous musical dynasty – Dmitry Yurovsky. The program included Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, op. 18  by S. Rachmaninoff and Symphony No. 4 in F minor, op. 36  by P. Tchaikovsky. The concert program on 17 November featured Piano Concerto No. 4 in G minor, op. 40, and Symphonic poem The Rock by S. Rachmaninov, Symphony No. 4 by P. Tchaikovsky. The concert was conducted by the winner of the Rachmaninoff International Competition of Pianists, Composers and Conductors Ivan Nikiforchin.

On 19 November Yurlov State Academic Choir of Russia performed at the Kursk Regional State Philharmonic. The concert program included works by S. Rachmaninoff, G. Sviridov, A. Alyabyev and Russian folk songs. Conductor – People’s Artist of Russia, Honored Art Worker of Russia, Artistic director and Chief conductor of the Yurlov State Academic Choir of Russia Gennady Dmitryak.

The final event of the all-Russian cultural marathon My Rachmaninoff will take place on 19 December on stage of the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. Among the concert participants – Russian and foreign musicians, laureates of the Rachmaninoff International Competition for Pianists, Conductors and Composers and the International Tchaikovsky Competition.

The festival is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the ANO “Novy Vek” in concurrence with the Federal State Budgetary Institution ROSCONCERT.
