Conductor Dimitris Botinis shares his impressions of the My Rachmaninoff marathon.

Conductor, laureate of the 1st All-Russian Music Competition Dimitris Botinis:

“For me, the My Rachmaninoff marathon is an opportunity to once again plunge into the wonderful world of music by Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninoff, whose legacy is the cultural value of our country and the entire world. My favorite work by Rachmaninoff is the one I am conducting today. Otherwise, the conductor cannot reveal the beauty and grandeur of these amazing creations. Participation in the marathon is an opportunity to communicate with our listeners in the language of Genius, and I am happy that the Novosibirsk Academic Symphony Orchestra and I became part of this grandiose project and our company  performed in different regions of the country.

I would like to thank our listeners for the warm reception and wish the art become an integral part of their lives, because this is art that may give a person true happiness. Classical music in the large is something that elevates a person above everyday life and vanity of the world, and Rachmaninoff’s music, moreover, is targeted to the heart of every listener, he speaks to you directly, and his music will always find a response in the soul of any Russian.”

As part of the marathon, concerts with the participation of the Novosibirsk Academic Symphony Orchestra were held in Tikhvin, Veliky Novgorod, and Pskov.

The All-Russian cultural project – marathon My Rachmaninoff was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the ANO “Novy Vek” with the assistance of the Federal State Budgetary Institution ROSCONCERT.
